Whether you’re a regular visitor to the city and want to learn something you never knew before, or you’re new to the city and want to get a feel for the place, Paul Schofield’s Walking Tours are not to be missed!

Having conducted tours of the city for over 30 years, Paul is an independent, English Heritage-accredited tour guide, and is also clued up on all the best watering holes.

From the picturesque Prince Street to the hidden Truelove sculptures, Paul will guide you around the city’s best-loved and most beautiful sights as well as its hidden treasures.

This is your chance to join us in your finest (?!) Halloween-themed costume or outfit as we take a leisurely Hulloween 'shamble' along the streets of Hull. Meet up with other zombies, steampunks in their finery (a few of whom will likely be vampires or vampire-hunters in disguise), undead creatures, ghosts, vampires, clowns, witches, black cats and any number of other Hulloweeny characters.
This is sure to be fun, if a touch creepy, but relax - it will be in full daylight!
At the end of the shamble why not enter the children's and adult costume competition? All children who participate will receive a small gift!

12:00 - David J Howe and Samantha Lee Howe in conversation.
David and Samantha talk about their careers, publishing and writing.
David J Howe has been involved with Doctor Who research and writing for over forty years. He has been consultant to a large number of publishers and manufacturers for their Doctor Who lines, and is author or co-author of over thirty factual titles associated with the show. He also has one of the largest collections of Doctor Who merchandise in the world.
He is Editorial Director of Telos Publishing Ltd, a UK based independent press specialising in horror/science fiction Novellas, crime novels, and guides to a variety of film and TV shows. In 2006 the company won the World Fantasy Award for their publishing work, and in 2010 celebrated their tenth anniversary while also receiving the British Fantasy Award for Best Small Press for two consecutive years in 2010 and 2011. 2020 marked twenty years of publishing.He currently contributes liner notes for BBC Audio's range of Doctor Who novelisation CDs and his latest book is The Who Adventures, a large format illustrated book looking at the history of Virgin Publishing's Doctor Who fiction.

USA TODAY! bestselling author SAMANTHA LEE HOWE breakaway debut psychological thriller, The Stranger In Our Bed, was released in February 2020 with Harper Collins imprint, One More Chapter. Within the first few days the book rapidly became a USA TODAY! bestseller.

The winner of Sunday's Hull Tea Duelling event will get to compete in the 2023 National Championship at the Asylum Steampunk Weekend in Lincoln over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Illicit markets have been a very popular feature at the Asylum Steampunk Festival for many years but if you ask anyone about them they will likely talk only in hushed whispers - nobody wants to get caught by the heavy arm of the law. The Grand Hulloween Parade

11:30 AM Parade through to Trinity Square
Join the Ministry of Steampunk and the Hull steampunk groups as we parade through the city from the Streetlife Museum Gardens to Trinity Square. We welcome steampunks and anyone in a Hulloween costume to join the parade. Saturday's Zombie Shambles will focus on perhaps the less glamorous side of Hulloween, whereas Sunday's Grand Parade will celebrate steampunk and Hulloween at their finest.
Let's face it, vampires just love an excuse to dress up!

12 PM - Mark Iveson - Horror Fan and Writer
Gateshead born Mark Iveson has been a horror film fan since childhood.
Prior to becoming a published author, he has written for the Glasgow based vampire magazine Bite Me, non-film related periodicals for The Geneva Times and several articles and reviews for the movie webmag Shadowlocked.
Mark's first book Cursed Horror Stars (Telos Publishing) was first published in 2015. His second book, Vincent Price: The British Connection (Telos) covers the horror icon's strong links to the UK, which includes several classic chillers and at least four career defining film performances.

Mark has also contributed to several books produced by the horror magazine We Belong Dead, and more recently to a forthcoming biography about the American actor Ted Cassidy.

In addition to writing, Mark has done book talks for the Newcastle Book Festival & is a regular speaker for a number of film screenings organised at the Castle Keep in Newcastle. He acted as compare and guest speaker for the first Morpeth Book Festival which took place this year and has been a guest speaker at the Whitley Bay Film Festival on several occasions.
Most recently, Mark staged his own event at Newcastle Library entitled Meet the Author, Meet the Artist with his friend, artist Lucy Dawlish.
Mark also plays guitar and was a former bass guitarist for the popular North-East rock band Old Man Goat.
