THE MINISTRY OF STEAMPUNK
We have some very special plans for our fifth Steampunk Halloween event which will once again take place at the County Assembly Rooms in Lincoln.
The daytime schedule is now complete and can be downloaded as a PDF file here or from the button at the bottom of this page. The document is formatted as an A6 booklet. We will have copies printed and available at the event while stocks last.

FRIGHT CLUB
The event will start on Friday evening with 'Fright Club', a new kind of immersive Steampunk event.
Now, the first rule of Fright Club is "You don't talk about Fright Club".
And the second rule of Fright Club is "You don't talk about Fright Club".
So for obvious reasons we can't say too much here, but if you attended Ghost Night in 2024 or Zombie Night in 2025 you will have gained entry to the ballroom through the spooky corridor. This year will be different as the whole evening will be based on spookiness and a little bit of mild fear (but nothing really nasty).
The atmosphere will be that of an underground club (you might have to come in through a side entrance) and there will be an illicit feeling to the event, with a casino, some ghost stories, monster-based activities and more that you can dip in and out of as you please (interspersed with trips to the bar to see what 'special' libations they may have lined up for your delectation).
It will be a time for monsters, their owners/handlers and the monster-curious to come together in an intimate steampunk setting for good company with a slight chill down your spine.
Since this will be a less formal event than Saturday's Immortal Ball, feel free to come in relaxed steampunk/gothic/monster/underground outfits. Just don't let anyone out in the street see you come in.
Doors to Fright Club will open at 7.30PM with carriages at 11PM
14+ only.
THE IMMORTAL BALL
The centrepience of the event will once again be The Immortal Ball on Saturday evening which has sold out the last two years, and we expect the same again this year. We are delighted to be welcoming back Jo Carley and the Old Dry Skulls who played at Zombie Night last year. They were simply fantastic and for the first time we've run The Immortal Ball actually on All Hallows Eve it is so fitting that we have a band to play for us with such impeccable spooky credentials.
The images below were taken during the meal at The Immortal Ball in 2025; you can see the fabulous atmosphere in the room with beautiful lighting and real candles on the table.
In 2024 we started the evening off with an unexpected visit from a Weeping Angel. There was darkness. There were screams. It was fun.
In 2025 guests entered the ballroom to discover a Spirit Cabinet on the centre of the dancefloor. A short seance followed; if you were there, you know what happened then.
This year we have another completely different surprise up our sleeves, so be sure to arrive in good time!
THE MENU
To Begin: Artisanal Bread with House Dip (GF Available)
A curated selection of sliced artisan loaves, served at room temperature to preserve their distinct crumb and texture. Accompanied by a vibrant blend of cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil and a deeply tangy, sweet balsamic vinegar for dipping.
The Main: Lincolnshire Sausage & Pomme Purée (GF, Vegan, DF available)
Crafted with artisanal plump Lincolnshire pork links from our local butcher, served atop a bed of creamy mash, accompanied by a selection of tender boiled carrots and green beans. Finished with a slow-simmered, glossy sweet onion reduction.
To Finish: Decadent Belgian Chocolate Truffle Cake
Chocolate biscuit base with a rich chocolate truffle mousse dispersed with cubes of chocolate Brownie and topped with sprinkles of chocolate crumb, paired with a scoop vanilla ice cream. Accentuated by a vibrant raspberry coulis and a delicate garnish of fresh, fan-sliced strawberries to balance the richness. (GF, DF, VEGAN).
JO CARLEY AND THE OLD DRY SKULLS
We had to wait several years to get Jo Carley and her fellow musicians to play for us at Steampunk Halloween, but when we were finally able to book them for Zombie NIght in 2025 we were not disapointed and immediately booked them to play The Immortal Ball this year. Jo and her fellow musicians will transport you to a bygone era when witches and black magic were rife. Their songs tell stories of deals with the devil, demons in love, witchdoctors, zombies, ghosts, ghouls, journeys to the deepest jungles and other exotic adventures which are told using sweet melodies and syncopated sounds.
Jo Carley is the wild and dark demonic music-hall mistress sent to predict hell in a way to entertain and amaze you, telling tales of terror with old-timey flair. She’s joined by her songwriting partner and husband, the zombie-like Tim Carley, who drives the sound with blues-soaked rhythms on an old archtop guitar, kick drum, and rattling shoe. Completing the spell is multi-instrumentalist Stephane Spitz, shifting seamlessly between syncopated baritone sax leads and the pulsing heartbeat of the double bass.

WHAT TO WEAR TO THE IMMORTAL BALL
Please come in your finest; Steampunk finery seldom fails to impress!
You can expect lots of Halloween-inspired outfits including witches, vampires, ghosts, Beetlejuice, Frankenstein's monster, the Addams family and more.
Smart formal wear is also welcome.
Be prepared to demonstrate you have a reflection (or at least a heartbeat). No weapons please.
TIMING
We invite guests to arrive between 7 and 7:30PM during which time the doors from Bailgate into the Assembly Rooms will be open, giving access to the bar and the oval room.
The doors from the oval room to the Ballroom will open at 7:30PM sharp so please be sure to arrive before 7:30PM.
Hearses at midnight. Please note this has been changed - earlier versions of this descriptions said 11:30 PM.
THE HALLOWEEN MEDAL
The Asylum 16 MoS medal bearing a left-facing red dragon was particularly popular this year, so for our Halloween V medal we have created a right-facing black dragon to match. The artwork is seen here. It will be cast in antique brass effect metal and there will be two small black bats keeping the dragon company. The ribbon will be plain black.
For the first time this year we will be offering a discount to those who purchase a Halloween Medal and also a ticket to Fright Club on the Friday night. This will be a £5 saving on the price of buying the two items separately.
BUYING TICKETS
There are two separate links for tickets. One is for The Immortal Ball and the other is for Fright Club and the Halloween medal.
The reason there are two separate links is because the ball site is linked to a seating plan so that you can choose where you want to sit.
When you press ‘Buy Tickets’ on the Immortal Ball page this will take you to a plan of the ballroom which will show which tickets are currently on sale. Click on the seat(s) where you would like to sit and press ‘Select’ in the box that pops up. Then press ‘Next’ and you will be taken to a page where you can enter your personal details, the names of any guests, meal selection and any dietary requirements. Pressing ‘Next’ again will then take you to the payment page.
All Hallows Eve only falls on a Saturday night once in a while, so this year's Immortal Ball - and indeed the whole of the Steampun Halloween event promises to be really special.
