THE MINISTRY OF STEAMPUNK
WEYMOUTH CHRISTMAS 2022
The Steampunk Christmas Festival in Weymouth was a joint enterprise between the Ministry of Steampunk (and lots of friends) and We Are Weymouth.
On Friday evening we held a fashion gala at the Royal Hotel in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare with additional contributions from Weymouth College.
The photographs below show work done by the Creative Practice Art and Design students as captured by their colleagues studying photography.
The next set of images were taken at the Fashion Gala by photography student Alfie Stokes.
Saturday we spent at the Nothe Fort with multiple features including Weymouth Concert Brass, the Brass Brothers, Belly Fusion Dance Collective, the Steampunk Sally's, a steampunk market, talks, tea duelling, teapot racing, all ending up with firing of the cannon and a lantern walk in the dusk.
On Sunday morning we met at the Jubilee Clock Tower and then paraded along the Esplanade ending up at New Bond Street where we were entertained by Belly Fusion Dance Collective. This was followed by an illicit market and then in the afternoon some of us took Steampunk afternoon tea at either the Royal Hotel or Nana Moon's Cafe Bar.
