24-26 October 2025

Asylum 15 - AXV - is over and the next Ministry of Steampunk event will be Steampunk Halloween at The County Assembly Rooms in Lincoln from 24 to 26 October.

Friday night will begin with Zombie Night, Saturday daytime we will have a Steampunk Maker's Market and  a variety of steampunk features old and new. Saturday night will be the fourth Ministry of Steampunk Immortal Ball and Sunday will have extra Steampunk treats.  You can find out more about the evening events here or follow the link at the bottom of this page.

The Daytime Programme
Saturday 25 October
The County Assembly Rooms
10:00 to 16:00

In the oval room and the Edwardian Suite we will have a curated Steampunk market on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday we will also have competitive teapot racing, a performance by the Steampunk Choir of Notorious Excellence (S.C.O.N.E.) and a chance to learn two dances in preparation for the Immortal Ball.

There will be Tea Duelling and there will be a tabletop 'Escape Room' type game with Mark Goodman of Mostly Curious Games as well as The Mystery of the Bishop's Gate, a game based on Cthulhu created by Major Tinker.

At the Ministry's last two New Year events Fiona and Nimrod have taught guests how to dance the waltz. Back by 'popular demand' they will be doing the same again at the Halloween event. Come along and learn how to waltz and then try out your moves after the meal at The Immortal Ball when we will play a few waltzes before we introduce Victor and the Bully to entertain us.

New for Halloween, Fiona and Nimrod will also teach some simple rock 'n' roll steps which you will also be able to try out at the ball. Both the Waltz and Rock 'n' Roll are couples' dances but you may well be able to snag a partner at the lesson, so don't be frightened to come along. No previous dance experiendce is required!

The Assembly Rooms bar will be open serving food and drinks and we hope to have some tables in the ballroom where you can bring food and drink from the bar and where you can rest your legs and watch the performances, races and workshops.

Sunday 26 October
The County Assembly Rooms
11 :00 to 15:00

In the oval room and the Edwardian Suite we will have a curated Steampunk market on both Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday morning we will gather (weather permitting) in the castle to take some photos and then meander along to the Assembly Rooms. Alternatively if you would like to try your hand at teapot racing without the prossure of a timed competition why not come along and join Richard and Irene for a low-pressure try out.

Last year we had great fun creating a Steampunk version of the Michael Jackson 'Thriller' video, so we thought we would try something similar again this year - only this time we are going to 'Do the Time Warp' in Steampunk style. Come along, have some light-hearted fun and let's see what we can create together!

Mark Goodman will be running his tabletop 'Escape Room' game again and Major Tinker will be running a 'reveal' session for those who have taken part in his Cthulhu-based game.

The Assembly Rooms bar will again be open serving food and drinks and we plan to have some tables in the ballroom where you can bring food and drink from the bar and where you can rest your legs and watch the ongoing activities.

The Steampunk Halloween IV Medal

This will be the third time we have produced a limited-edition Steampunk Halloween medal.

The first two featured bats, so we decided to have a change this year, hence the Halloween IV medal includes the image of a spider (with apologies to all the arachnophobes amongst us). The images here show the artwork sent to the manufacturers plus their proof drawing. The medal will be struck in an antique brass colour with a black spider, a black 15-sided polygon (which links the design to the AXV medal) and a solid black ribbon.

You can pre-order the medal on the same page as you can book tickets to Zombie Night here. If you are quick we also have a handful of medals left over from 2024 which you can also pre-order. If they don't sell out in advance we will have any remaining stock for cash sale at the event.

The Steampunk Halloween Stamp

IMG_7352.JPEG

This year will be the first time we have produced a Steampunk Halloween stamp to match the medal so please do bring along your Steampunk passport (or you can buy one at the event) and be sure to collect your first ever Steampunk Halloween stamp.

Like all of our curently produced stamps, this one bears the date of the event and it will only be available at Steampunk Halloween IV.

Please check back soon for further information.
